NHN Receives Minister of Science and ICT Award for Contribution to Information Security Industry Development

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] NHN announced on the 28th that it received the Minister of Science and ICT Award at the ‘2022 Information Security Industry Night’ event held on the 24th at the Kensington Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, in recognition of its contributions to the development of the information security industry.

The Ministry of Science and ICT (hereinafter referred to as MSIT) highlights the importance of the information security industry and annually selects and awards individuals and companies who have contributed to the industry's development to encourage cooperation and growth within the sector.

At the event, NHN was recognized for its efforts to enhance internal and external trust through proactive information security disclosures and was selected as an ‘Outstanding Company in Information Security Disclosure,’ receiving the Minister’s Award. This is the second time NHN has won in the same category since 2019.

Since its establishment in 2013, NHN has recognized the importance of information security and formed a dedicated internal team. Currently, about 50 dedicated security personnel are stationed to build a robust internal security system. The company continuously conducts various training sessions and campaigns for employees to raise security awareness and has obtained numerous international certifications related to information security. In particular, NHN has agreed with the government's information security disclosure system and has been conducting related disclosures annually since 2019.

Seongmin Jo, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of NHN’s Security Policy Office, stated, “As awareness of personal information protection gradually strengthens, information security is an area that the IT industry must pay great attention to,” adding, “NHN will continue to value each customer’s information more dearly and do its best to establish a system that thoroughly protects it.”
