The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 28th at midnight that 22,327 new COVID-19 cases were added, bringing the total to 26,959,843 cases.
The number of new cases on this day was 24,701 fewer than the previous day (47,028 cases) and 750 fewer than a week ago on the 21st (23,077 cases).
On the other hand, the number of critically ill patients hospitalized increased by 10 to 491 compared to the previous day. The number of critically ill patients has been rising for four consecutive days since the 24th (437 patients). As of 5 p.m. the previous day, the ICU bed occupancy rate was 34.8%.
There were 44 additional new deaths from COVID-19. The cumulative death toll reached 30,413, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.
