Additionally, 1:1 regular admission counseling will accept additional applications from 2 p.m. on December 1. Counseling will be held from December 12 to 31 (excluding Sundays), with seven sessions on weekdays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., each session lasting 50 minutes and free of charge.


To ensure smooth counseling, applicants must complete the counseling application form on the website at least two days before the counseling date and bring their CSAT score report on the day.

Counselors will analyze examinees' CSAT scores and school records to identify possible universities and departments for acceptance and provide personalized 1:1 counseling on regular admission strategies expected to be highly competitive.


Applications for counseling can be made online on the Mapo Career and Job Experience Support Center website or via the QR code on the promotional poster until December 11 on a first-come, first-served basis.


Applicants must reside in Mapo-gu or be examinees, graduates, or parents of high schools in Mapo-gu. A total of 70 people will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis.


An admission official stated, "This year's CSAT had a high perceived difficulty due to discriminative questions, and the number of graduates taking the test increased to the highest in 26 years, which is expected to be a variable in regular admissions," adding, "Parents' interest in the '2023 College Regular Admission Counseling' is focused ahead of regular admissions."

Before COVID-19, an average of about 800 residents attended each session, showing high interest.

In July, the district signed a business agreement with Soongsil University to promote various "Regional Intelligent Innovation Talent Development Projects" utilizing the district's resources and Soongsil University's human infrastructure. The "Regional Intelligent Innovation Talent Development Project," led by the Ministry of Science and ICT, supports innovative education and research for employees of local companies to cultivate high-level research personnel.


The briefing will be held on the 29th at the Playground of AI Yangjae Hub in Yangjae-dong. Professors from Soongsil University's Department of Techno Convergence will introduce the purpose of the Regional Intelligent Innovation Talent Development Project, AI-related master's and doctoral programs, and conduct Q&A for employees of local AI companies. The session will last about two hours.


Employees participating in the "AI-related Master's and Doctoral Programs" will receive up to 90% of tuition support per person annually (up to 10 million KRW per year). They will research AI, image recognition, smart factory convergence, game convergence, etc., with courses held on weekday evenings or weekends. They will also participate in project development research through industry-academia-research cooperation.


Applicants must submit a letter of intent along with required documents such as a recommendation letter from their employing company to the district by December 2. Formal applications will be accepted on Soongsil University's graduate school website from December 5 to 16, followed by interviews and screening to select successful candidates.
