[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] On the morning of the 27th, the Changwon Special City Autonomous Crime Prevention Association held the ‘3rd Changwon City Autonomous Crime Prevention Association Unity Festival’ at Myeongseo 2 Residents' Sports Ground, attended by about 700 autonomous crime prevention members along with distinguished guests including Jo Myung-rae, 2nd Vice Mayor of Changwon Special City, Kim I-geun, Chairman of Changwon City Council, and Kang Yong-beom, Vice Chairman of Gyeongsangnam-do Council.
Marking its 3rd year, the Changwon City Autonomous Crime Prevention Association Unity Festival was organized to commend the efforts of outstanding crime prevention members who have led local security activities, to reaffirm commitment to crime prevention, and to foster harmony and camaraderie among members.
The second part of the event featured various sports activities such as relay races among members, group jump rope, tug-of-war, and a cheerful sports day, along with singing contests and prize draws, providing a time to renew determination as guardians of citizen safety and to promote unity.
Notably, the event included a resolution rally praying for the selection of Changwon City as the final candidate site for the Police Hospital branch (2 centers, 23 medical departments, 550 beds) promoted by the National Police Agency.
Autonomous crime prevention members and guests attending the event shouted slogans wishing for the Police Hospital branch to be located in Changwon City, emphasizing the necessity of Changwon’s selection based on balanced regional public medical service provision, a well-connected transportation network, and the police and fire personnel numbers in nearby large cities.
In his opening remarks, Lee Yun-su, Chairman of the Autonomous Crime Prevention Association, said, “Through this rare gathering at the Unity Festival, we will strengthen harmony and friendship among members and continue to create a safe Changwon for local residents through close cooperation in security with the city and police.”
Vice Mayor Jo said, “I am always grateful to the autonomous crime prevention members who have become guardians of local security with a sense of mission and volunteer spirit. We will do our best to make Changwon a safe and happy city for all citizens.”
