Jinju City Successfully Hosts This Year's Volunteer One-Heart Festival

Organized to Encourage Volunteers Who Dedicated Themselves to Service

Jinju City Successfully Hosts This Year's Volunteer One-Heart Festival 2022 Volunteer Unity Festival held in Jinju-si, Gyeongnam.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Volunteer Organizations Council of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, held the '2022 Jinju City Volunteer Unity Festival' on the 25th at the Jinju Indoor Gymnasium, with about 3,000 volunteers in attendance.

This event was held for the first time in three years since the spread of COVID-19 to encourage the dedication of volunteers who have carried out devoted volunteer activities such as quarantine field work and support for various festivals and events after returning to daily life.

Starting with a pre-ceremony performance, the first part of the event included a commemorative ceremony and awards for outstanding volunteers, reflecting on past volunteer activities and reaffirming the meaning of volunteering. In the second part, an invited performance was held to relieve everyday stress.

Mayor Cho Gyu-il said in his encouragement speech, "Volunteering exerts strong power in every corner of the community where administration cannot reach and has become a hope for our society," adding, "I deeply thank the volunteers who have worked hard this year to improve the quality of life of citizens and the development of the local community."

Bang Man-hyeok, president of the Volunteer Organizations Council, said, "Our volunteers are the treasures of Jinju City who brighten our society by playing roles such as guides at festivals and events, quarantine keepers at COVID-19 quarantine sites, and hope sharers when helping neighbors in need," and added, "I hope we will continue to work passionately together next year as well."
