[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Chris Sutton, a football commentator for the British BBC, predicted that South Korea would defeat Ghana in the second group stage match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup. He gained attention for accurately forecasting Japan's 2-1 victory over Germany and South Korea's draw against Uruguay in the first round.

On the 25th (local time), Sutton appeared on BBC Sport and said, "South Korea will be well aware that they must beat Ghana in the fiercely competitive Group H to advance to the round of 16," adding, "In a battle similar to the Uruguay match, South Korea will win 1-0 against Ghana." He predicted a 0-0 draw for the Portugal vs. Uruguay match.

His remarks are notable due to his high accuracy so far. Sutton has been called a pinpoint predictor, having correctly predicted the outcomes of 9 out of 12 matches.

On the 23rd, in the first match of Group E, he predicted that Japan would defeat the "Panzer Army" Germany 2-1. At the time, most expected an overwhelming victory for Germany, so some were skeptical of this prediction. However, in that match, Japan achieved a 2-1 comeback victory over Germany, just as Sutton had forecasted.

He also correctly predicted the result of South Korea's first match. Earlier, Sutton analyzed Group H and anticipated a 1-1 draw between South Korea and Uruguay in their first match. In the game held on the 24th, the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw after a close contest, each earning 1 point. Although he did not predict the exact score, Sutton's forecast was largely accurate.

If the flow of the second match proceeds as Sutton predicted, South Korea and Portugal will both hold 4 points, securing favorable positions to advance to the round of 16.
