[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] A man in his 40s, a junior short track coach, has been booked on charges of sexually assaulting a minor student and illegal filming.
According to the police on the 26th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul booked Mr. A on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (sexual assault and illegal filming).
Mr. A is accused of taking a teenage student to his home and illegally filming her while working as a junior short track coach at an ice rink in Seoul. There are also allegations that Mr. A sexually assaulted a teenage female student during coaching sessions.
It has been identified that Mr. A led a team consisting of about 10 members, including junior short track athletes with outstanding skills, some of whom were selected as youth representatives.
Parents who detected the illegal filming by Mr. A reportedly filed a complaint with the police on the 23rd.
