Key Figures Behind Cable TV Development Gathered... 'KCTA Homecoming Day' Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Soo-yeon] The Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association announced on the 27th that it held the '2022 KCTA Homecoming Day' on the 25th at a restaurant located in Jung-gu, Seoul, inviting media industry professionals who have passed through the association since its official launch in April 1994, as well as former association presidents and executives.

The Homecoming Day was organized to share the achievements and footsteps of the association over the past 27 years, to build a consensus for the next 30 years to come, and to take the first step toward establishing a sustainable cooperative network.

At the event, former association presidents who led the cable industry development on the ground, including Yoo Sam-ryeol, the 4th president (former president of Busan MBC), Gil Jong-seop, the 7th president (former KBS correspondent), and Bae Seok-gyu, the 10th president (former president of YTN), attended to encourage their juniors.

More than 50 OB members currently active in various fields of the media industry, including Internet TV (IPTV), satellite broadcasting, online video services (OTT), telecommunications, and content, also attended the event to share memories from their tenure and expressed consensus on exploring ways to coexist with the cable industry in the future.

Lee Rae-woon, president of the Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association, said, “Starting today, the association aims to build a network with a sense of solidarity that can work together through good times and bad.” He added, “We ask for the affectionate advice of our seniors on the many challenges we must overcome going forward.”
