[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 27th that it will introduce reusable cups in its in-house rest areas and carry out a "Reusable Cup Usage Campaign" to reduce the use of disposable products in daily life.

This campaign is part of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management and was planned with the purpose of encouraging employees to participate in eco-friendly activities through everyday practices. It also realizes the "Reusable Cup Sharing Project," which won an award at the in-house idea contest held in September for MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) employees.

On the 25th, Lotte Homeshopping completely replaced disposable cups used in in-house cafes and rest areas with reusable cups. The used cups are collected by a specialized company and go through a six-step professional cleaning and sterilization process, including high-temperature and high-pressure washing, before being reused. Each cup can be used more than 300 times, and cups that are damaged or unusable are crushed and reprocessed to be remanufactured into new products. The use of reusable cups is expected to save more than 70,000 disposable cups annually, reducing carbon emissions by about 1 ton. In the future, the company plans to expand the introduction of reusable cups and spread eco-friendly culture through collaboration with nearby cafes and others.

Lee Dongkyu, ESG Officer at Lotte Homeshopping, said, "We will make further efforts to expand eco-friendly activities that employees can easily and conveniently practice in their daily lives so that ESG culture can be established throughout the company."
