[Seoul District News] Mapo-gu Hosts the 1st Mapo-gu Mayor's Cup National Amateur Boxing Tournament... Oh Seung-rok, Nowon-gu Mayor, Attends 2022 Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill Site
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 26th, Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District Office, attended the 7th Yeongdeungpo District Mayor's Futsal Tournament held at Daerim Sports Ground soccer field to encourage the players and officials.
Organized by the Yeongdeungpo District Futsal Federation, the tournament featured passionate matches in a knockout format with about 250 players and guests in attendance, serving as a venue for club members to foster unity.
Mayor Choi Ho-kwon stated, "I hope this tournament will promote the health of the residents and revitalize community sports," adding, "We will spare no effort in supporting various aspects such as creating a safe sports environment and providing diverse programs."
Mapo District (Mayor Park Gang-su) held the "1st Mapo District Mayor's National Amateur Boxing Tournament" on the 26th at the gymnasium on the 3rd floor of the Mapo District Sports Center.
About 300 people attended the opening ceremony, including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, various guests, officials from the Mapo District Sports Council, and boxing tournament participants. Notably, former world champions and boxing stars Jang Jeong-gu, Baek In-cheol, and Hong Soo-hwan visited the venue, adding to the excitement.
Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo District said, "I am grateful that many boxing enthusiasts showed interest and participated in the first boxing tournament held in Mapo District as a national competition," adding, "Mapo District will strive to activate beneficial community sports cultures like boxing by developing various community sports programs and infrastructure."
On the afternoon of the 25th, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, observed the "2022 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill" at the construction site of the Northeast Line Section 4 in Junggye-dong, Nowon District, Seoul.
The drill is conducted under Article 35 of the Disaster and Safety Management Basic Act, aiming to check the mobilization system and role division of related agencies during various disasters, as well as the task performance capabilities of each agency and the on-site command system.
On this day, 461 personnel and 140 pieces of equipment from 15 organizations, including Nowon District Office, Nowon Fire Station, Nowon Police Station, Nowon Health Center, Unit 2997, Korea Electric Power Corporation Nowon Branch, KT Nowon Branch, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences, Sanggye Paik Hospital, Eulji Hospital, Nowon Volunteer Fire Brigade, Kolon Corporation, and Samho Construction, were mobilized.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "Disasters such as heavy rain damage and construction site collapses come unexpectedly," adding, "We will do our best to establish a swift and systematic disaster response system to ensure that not a single safety accident occurs."
