Market Conditions Worsen Due to Low Birthrate Impact... Sales Until February Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] LG Household & Health Care is withdrawing from the infant formula and baby food business due to deteriorating market conditions caused by low birth rates.
According to industry sources on the 25th, LG Household & Health Care's Babyens announced on its website, "We will cease production of foods such as 'Babyens Kindermilch' and 'Kabrita Goat Milk Powder' after the second half of this year," adding, "We expect all remaining inventory to be sellable until around February 2023."
This marks 10 years since Babyens entered the infant food market in 2012.
The Babyens Mall, which sold related products, will also cease operations.
However, Babyens will continue to operate its skincare and cleansing product lines, which will be available for purchase through LG Household & Health Care's Naver Store and offline outlets.
