[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Daehong Planning announced on the 25th the report "7 Life Signals Driving Consumption" forecasting next year's consumer trends.


The seven life signals are Sense of Efficiency, Victory of Enthusiasm, Hunter Instinct, Identity Indulgence, Goal is Youth, Self-centered Relationships, and Decision to Quit. Among these, the core signal for next year was identified as Sense of Efficiency. This refers to an attitude that weighs gains and losses in all aspects while maximizing satisfaction based on past consumption experiences. Representative examples explaining this context are secondhand trading and investment (financial technology).


The Sense of Efficiency is expressed not only economically but also in relationships, rejecting formal or uncontrollable relationships and reorganizing human connections around relationships that one can control. The rise of unmanned formats and the increased attachment and mentions of companion plants, animals, and companion items are phenomena extending from this trend.


This report is part of Daehong Planning's D.SIGNAL project, which detects signals of change and forecasts future business and life trends based on insights into sociocultural phenomena and data analysis. This is the second report since its publication in September, and Daehong Planning plans to release three consecutive reports by early next year.
