MFDS Shares Achievements in Regulatory Support for the Digital Health Sector at Briefing Session

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will hold a briefing session on the 25th at the LW Convention in Jung-gu, Seoul, to share regulatory support achievements in the digital health sector with manufacturers and importers of digital health devices.


The briefing will cover trends in the development of medical devices in the digital health field, such as AI-applied devices and digital therapeutics, successful cases of product commercialization of digital health medical devices, review cases applying AI and cybersecurity, major regulatory support achievements this year, and future directions.


Junhwan Kim, Director of Kakao Healthcare, Kyungsoo Jung, Professor at Yonsei University Severance Hospital, and Youheon Noh, CEO of Imocog, will present on digital health development trends and successful support cases, while the Digital Health Regulatory Support Division of the National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation will discuss key work achievements and current status.


Additionally, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will introduce digital health medical device-related tasks among the 100 major regulatory innovation projects currently being promoted to support industrial development while prioritizing public health and safety during the briefing.


An official from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety stated, "We expect this briefing to help the industry develop and rapidly commercialize medical devices in the digital health field."
