[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] Global video security solution company ‘Hanwha Techwin’ announced on the 25th that it will hold an in-house contest called 'Inside-Techwinner' to support employees' innovative ideas and commercialize them.

Hanwha Techwin planned the contest for the second time this year following last year, aiming to discover innovative ideas based on practical experience from internal experts, as global competition accelerates and competition in advanced technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) intensifies.

Since September, 15 teams have proposed creative and diverse ideas that break the mold of existing video security businesses. The various ideas submitted to the contest go through employee voting and internal evaluation committee review, and are officially adopted as projects through the final evaluation by management.

This year, ideas such as a ‘multispectral camera’ that combines Hanwha Techwin’s video technology and multispectral special filters to determine fruit sugar content and crop maturity, a solution linking smartwatches and CCTV, and an idea to remove rainwater from CCTV using piezoelectric elements received favorable evaluations and were selected as official projects.

Hanwha Techwin plans to support infrastructure resources and expenses for one year to enable the adopted ideas to be implemented as actual businesses. If the ideas are reflected in actual business, the respective teams will receive benefits such as cash rewards and special leave.

A Hanwha Techwin official stated, "Employees’ ideas incorporate practical experience from the field, making it highly likely to be implemented in actual business," and added, "If there are creative ideas, we will generously support them to create a dynamic and innovative organizational culture."

Hanwha Techwin plans to continuously provide various opportunities, including in-house contests, so that all employees can freely propose creative ideas without burden.
