[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Korea Publishing Culture Association will set up and operate a collective exhibition booth called ‘Iyagi Gongjang’ (Story Factory) for Korean publishers at the 36th Guadalajara International Book Fair held in Mexico. The event will take place from the 26th of this month to the 4th of next month.
Participants in Iyagi Gongjang include ▲Book21 ▲Sigong Junior ▲MiraeN Co., Ltd. ▲Hansol Soobook ▲Woori School Co., Ltd. ▲Iyagi Ddeul ▲Gong Publishing ▲Hyphen Hood ▲Wisdom House ▲L’Atelier Jiyeong ▲Kinderland Co., Ltd. ▲Biryoungso Co., Ltd. ▲Gorae Baetsok ▲Changbi Co., Ltd. Including separate booths by ▲Daragwon Co., Ltd. ▲Sahoe Pyunron Co., Ltd. ▲Sanji-ni, a total of 17 companies will introduce 69 Korean books.
An official from the association stated, “Through participating in this Guadalajara Book Fair, we aim to establish a foundation for the Korean publishing industry to enter the Spanish-speaking market.”
The association operates a Korean Pavilion at overseas book fairs by region every year to introduce Korean publishing culture and systematically support the overseas market entry of book copyrights. Next year, Korean Pavilions will be operated at the Taipei International Book Fair in January, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in March, and the Frankfurt Book Fair in October. Korea will also participate as the guest of honor at the Sharjah International Book Fair in November.
