Daiso's Success Secret 'Manage with One Thousand Won' Ranks 3rd on Yes24 Bestseller List

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] In the comprehensive bestseller list for the 4th week of November on Yes24, Trend Korea 2023, which analyzes the outlook for the upcoming year 2023 by the Seoul National University Consumer Trend Analysis Center, maintained its No. 1 position for the 7th consecutive week. A Walk Through the Legal Classics of the Fatherland, which uncovers the hidden meanings of classic legal texts and reflects on law and justice in Korean society, held onto 2nd place following the previous week. After debuting at 7th place in the 2nd week of November, it has consistently stayed at 2nd place for the 3rd and 4th weeks of November. According to Yes24’s data, 59.6% of the buyers of A Walk Through the Legal Classics of the Fatherland were aged 50 and above, making up the majority, followed by 40s at 31.7%, showing a high purchase rate.


Manage One Thousand Won, which conveys the secrets to success of Daiso founder Chairman Park Jung-bu, ranked 3rd immediately after sales began. The popular creators Heunhan Nam-mae’s heartwarming daily episodes in Heunhan Nam-mae 12 took 4th place, and the moving full-length novel Father’s Liberation Diary by author Jeong Ji-a settled at 5th place.


It was a week where economic and business books showed strong performance with the appearance of various new releases ranging from management stories to real estate. Along with Manage One Thousand Won at 3rd place, Everything About Housing Subscription, which provides broad knowledge from basic to detailed information about the subscription system by the Korea Real Estate Agency’s Subscription Home, ranked 8th. This Book Is About How to Make Money by author Ko Myung-hwan, who transformed from an MBC public comedian to a “master of neighborhood business,” containing his philosophy and know-how, was placed at 16th.


In the children’s category, new releases from popular series such as educational comics and creative fairy tales attracted attention. Alongside Heunhan Nam-mae 12 at 4th place, the new story in the creative fairy tale Jeoncheon-dang Series, Strange Candy Store Jeoncheon-dang 16, rose two spots from the previous week to 9th place. The educational comic series Go Go Kakao Friends, which has sold over 2 million copies cumulatively, released Go Go Kakao Friends 26 Poland, which debuted at 15th place. The elementary science introductory book Heunhan Nam-mae Science Exploration Team 6 Physics 2 settled at 17th, and Greek and Roman Mythology 31, which contains a new journey of Aeneas, ranked 18th.


Meanwhile, the humanities book If I Could Live My Life Again attracted attention by entering the rankings at 14th place. If I Could Live My Life Again is a special edition published to commemorate the sale of 100,000 copies of Why I Enjoy Living Today, in which the author, who has worked as a psychoanalyst for 30 years and has suffered from Parkinson’s disease for 22 years, shares thoughts and life lessons learned.


In the eBook category, Trend Korea 2023, which forecasts consumer trends for the Year of the Black Rabbit preparing for a higher leap, maintained its No. 1 position for the 3rd consecutive week, while Jeong Ji-a’s Father’s Liberation Diary, which conveys the warmth of the era through the author’s fingertips, ranked 2nd.
