[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] Dongseo University signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement with EMK Musical Company on the 24th at the Global Room in the main building of Dongseo University to nurture local cultural talents and discover and foster new musical stars.
As the first project, EMK Musical Company will hold auditions for current students and graduates of Dongseo University's Musical Department to discover and train new talents. They will conduct a company-tailored audition project that places these talents into productions.
Um Honghyun, CEO of EMK Musical Company, said, "We hope that this audition will give birth to star gems hidden in the region."
The selected new actors will join EMK Entertainment, which includes Kai and Kim Sohyang, improve their skills, and after passing auditions, will be able to participate in productions starting in 2024.
Students who pass the first round of video audition screening can participate in the main audition on the 25th and 28th.
The judges for this audition include Kim Jiwon, CEO of EMK Entertainment, Kwon Euna, resident director of EMK, and musical actress Kim Sohyang, who will personally provide lessons and comments to the students.
Jang Jeguk, president of Dongseo University, said, "With this agreement, our university's musical department students will receive guidance from top experts in the field, and the focused audition opens a pathway for them to advance to the central stage in earnest."
