[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] The Imsil-gun Volunteer Center in Jeonbuk (Center Director So Byeongjong) announced on the 24th that it conducted a Love Kimchi Sharing Volunteer Activity.
About 40 volunteers participated in the event, including the Saemaeul Movement Imsil-gun Branch, the Korean Red Cross Imsil District Council, the Federation of Women's Associations, the Women's Volunteer Association, and the Imsil-eup Women's Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit.
The Love Kimchi Sharing was organized to help neighbors in the area who need kimchi for a warm winter. Recommendations were received from the Disabled Persons' Federation, the Federation of the Visually Impaired, the Imsil-gun Sign Language Interpretation Center, and volunteer organizations. Approximately 200 households of disabled and elderly living alone received a total of 2,400 kg, 12 kg per household.
County Governor Shim Min said, "I sincerely thank the volunteers who practice kimchi sharing for local residents who find it difficult to prepare for winter, and I expect that with the passion of the volunteers, the county will develop into a place where people want to live more."
Meanwhile, about 7,000 people are registered as volunteers at the Imsil-gun Volunteer Center, and about 1,400 volunteers are actively engaged. Residents who wish to participate in volunteer activities to revitalize the local community can contact through the volunteer portal or by phone.
