[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Orion announced on the 24th that it will launch a new jelly product called 'Richi Almengi,' which replicates the taste and appearance of the tropical fruit lychee.
Richi Almengi is the third product in the MyGummy Almengi series, following the beloved 'Grape Almengi' and 'Plum Almengi,' known for their taste, appearance, and texture similar to real fruit. The exterior delicately expresses the red skin with a chewy texture, while the white flesh inside applies optimal juice and moisture content to provide a bouncy texture and a sweet and tangy lychee flavor simultaneously.
The new product enhances the unique 'dual texture' of the MyGummy Almengi series, featuring a different texture on the outside and inside, and adds a novel fun experience by allowing consumers to peel the skin and separate the almengi as if eating a real lychee. To achieve this dual texture, Orion's Global Research Institute concentrated its technological capabilities by testing various jelly combinations and improving manufacturing equipment.
An Orion official stated, "By strengthening the dual-texture fruit jelly lineup with lychee following grape and plum, we have expanded consumer choices," and added, "Based on 30 years of accumulated jelly research, development, and production capabilities, we will continue to introduce differentiated new products."
