[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Park Hyung-jun, mayor of Busan, will hold a strategic meeting on-site to address overall transportation and environmental issues in Western Busan.
Busan City announced that on the 24th at 3:30 PM, the 11th Western Busan On-site Strategic Meeting, presided over by Mayor Park Hyung-jun, will be held at the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage Observatory.
With next year’s government budget currently under review in the National Assembly, Mayor Park arranged this on-site meeting to enhance understanding of various pledge projects (environmental and transportation sectors) in the Western Busan area, where securing national funds is essential, and to devise more detailed strategies.
The strategic meeting will first review major projects not yet reflected in the national budget, including ▲ Establishment of a safe water supply system in the Nakdong River basin and ▲ Construction of the Hadan~Noksan Line, on the 3rd floor of the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage Observatory.
Following this, the meeting will check the status and countermeasures for key environmental and transportation projects in Western Busan, including ▲ Establishment of a safe water supply system in the Nakdong River basin ▲ Opening of the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage and restoration of the brackish water ecosystem ▲ Creation of Macdo Green City and designation of the Nakdong River Estuary as a national urban park ▲ Early development of Hwamyung Neighborhood Park ▲ Development of Sasang Riverprint City (Bridge) ▲ Construction of Western Busan transportation infrastructure (Sasang~Hadan Line, Hadan~Noksan Line, Bujeon~Masan double-track railway, Sasang Station metropolitan transfer center) ▲ Early completion of Mandeok 3 Tunnel ▲ Early construction of Nakdong River transverse roads (Daejeo Bridge, Eomgung Bridge, Jangnak Bridge) ▲ Construction of the 2nd Daeti Tunnel.
Mayor Park said, “I believe all solutions lie on-site, so I will frequently visit the sites, listen to difficulties, and carefully prepare strategies for major projects in Western Busan.”
The Western Busan On-site Strategic Meeting is held in Western Busan to share awareness of city administration issues and seek response directions.
Since discussions on the Sasang Industrial Area regeneration project began in July 2021, a total of 10 meetings have been held to date.
The 12th meeting, scheduled for December, will focus intensively on current issues and countermeasures in the cultural and industrial sectors.
