[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Regarding the allegations that President Yoon Seok-yeol, Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon, and about 30 lawyers from Kim & Chang had a late-night drinking party, it has been reported that the cellist who claimed to have seen President Yoon and Minister Han testified that it was a lie.

On the 24th, according to a compilation of Asia Economy's coverage, the Seoul Seocho Police Station summoned cellist A for about three hours from 2 PM to 5 PM the previous day for questioning.

It is known that during the police investigation, A testified that the lie was told to deceive an ex-boyfriend. The police also confirmed that A was not at the bar past midnight on that day.

The Cheongdam-dong drinking party allegation involves a gathering on July 19 at a bar in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, where President Yoon, Minister Han, about 30 Kim & Chang lawyers, and Lee Se-chang, former acting president of the Federation of Korean Associations, were said to have gathered and drank past midnight.

At that time, A's conversation with an ex-boyfriend, in which A said that these individuals came to the bar where A worked and enjoyed drinking and singing, was made public, sparking controversy.

Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Ui-gyeom questioned Minister Han about this matter during the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee's audit on the 24th, and Minister Han strongly denied it.

Meanwhile, the police plan to investigate how lawmaker Kim obtained the recording file containing the conversation. However, there is also a prospect that the statements made by Kim at the National Assembly audit will be protected by parliamentary immunity.

The police will also investigate how the false information that A told the ex-boyfriend was disseminated.
