28 Medals Won at the 42nd National Disabled Sports Festival
Hanwha Q CELLS Disabled Sports Team held an awards ceremony on the 22nd at the training ground inside Cheongju Sports Complex for the athletes and coaches who won prizes at the 42nd National Disabled Sports Festival.
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Hanwha Solutions Q CELLS Division announced on the 23rd that the Hanwha Q CELLS Disabled Sports Team achieved its best performance since its founding at the 42nd National Disabled Sports Festival.
The Hanwha Q CELLS Disabled Sports Team participated in a total of seven events including blind football, rowing, weightlifting, shooting, intellectual football, goalball, and swimming, with a total of 30 athletes competing. They won a total of 28 medals: 15 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze.
In weightlifting alone, they won 14 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals. Weightlifter Hwang Sang-hoon set new Korean records in all three events he participated in, achieving a triple crown with three gold medals. In shooting, the team won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. In team events, they won 1 silver medal in rowing and 1 bronze medal in blind football, demonstrating outstanding skills.
To encourage these achievements, Hanwha Q CELLS held an awards ceremony at each training venue, providing prize money and gifts to the medal-winning athletes and coaches, and conveyed their congratulations.
Hanwha Q CELLS has been supporting disabled athletes in various sports such as shooting, weightlifting, and swimming since establishing the largest disabled sports team in Chungbuk in 2019, in line with Hanwha Group’s social contribution philosophy of "Together, Far."
