[Seoul District News] Gangnam-gu Operates Field Trip Program to Seoul Sewer Science Museum for 700 Elementary, Middle, and Special School Students Until December 9
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Seongmyeong Jo) is operating the "2022 Environmental Infrastructure Tour" program for about 700 students from 18 elementary, middle, and special schools in the area from the 13th of last month to the 9th of next month.
This tour program was planned as part of the Gangnam-gu Environmental Love Practice School project to raise environmental awareness among youth, the future leaders, and to spread the will to practice carbon neutrality.
The tours are conducted 20 times in total, with 35 students per session. Students visit the Seoul Sewerage Science Museum, Energy Dream Center, Waterworks Museum, Pangyo Environmental Ecology Learning Center, and Gangnam Resource Recovery Facility to engage in various hands-on activities related to eco-friendly and renewable energy, environmental conservation and resource recycling, and energy saving. A professional instructor from the "Yangjaecheon Love Environmental Guardians" introduces the tour sites and shares various stories about the environment, including environmental conservation and eco-mileage.
The district plans to expand the Environmental Love Practice School from 25 schools last year to 46 schools this year and to further activate the program by awarding excellent cases of school-specific environmental programs at the end of this year.
Seongmyeong Jo, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "I hope students will have a meaningful time feeling the importance of the environment through various hands-on activities at environmental facilities," and added, "We will realize eco-friendly policies in preparation for the 2050 carbon neutrality era to create a Gangnam where future generations can live with peace of mind."
