[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will invest a total of 926.3 billion KRW over five years to improve the welfare of local people with developmental disabilities.
On the 22nd, the province held the "2nd Developmental Disability Support Committee Meeting" at the Chungnam Provincial Office and announced the "2nd Five-Year Plan (2023-2027)" based on this content.
The five-year plan includes ▲6 tasks related to life cycle and care ▲6 tasks related to health, education, and housing ▲5 tasks related to human rights and advocacy ▲7 tasks related to independence ▲6 tasks related to family, along with the budget scale to be invested in these five areas.
First, to support the growth and care of people with developmental disabilities according to their life cycle, 184.653 billion KRW will be invested in tasks such as developmental rehabilitation service voucher support, career counseling for adult-transition developmental children, after-school care, and daytime activity support.
In the health and housing sectors for people with developmental disabilities, 305.878 billion KRW will be invested for the operation of the Chungnam Regional Disabled Oral Care Center, support for residential facilities for the disabled, and the establishment of emergency safety and security service support equipment for people with severe disabilities.
In the human rights and advocacy sector, support will be provided for disabled rights advocacy organizations and shelters for disabled victims. The budget allocated for this sector is 6.082 billion KRW.
The independence sector aims to strengthen the independence foundation of people with developmental disabilities by investing 393.069 billion KRW in installing independent experience rental housing and operating vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled. The family sector will support 36.644 billion KRW for building healing centers for local disabled families and operating disabled family support centers.
The province plans to finalize the five-year plan within this year and begin full-scale implementation from next year.
