[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyuk-jun] On the 22nd, Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do announced that it conducted the '2022 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill' at the county office Disaster Safety Situation Room to strengthen capabilities in disaster response, recovery, and restoration.

Presided over by County Governor Gu Bok-gyu, the drill involved the Hwasun Fire Station, Hwasun Police Station, Korea Electric Power Corporation Hwasun Branch, four related marine energy organizations, and 11 collaborative departments of the county office.

The drill simulated a fire of unknown cause occurring on the first floor of Nadri Welfare Center, and included training on fire response by related organizations and collaborative departments, reporting on recovery situations, seeking solutions through mutual Q&A, and practicing crisis response procedures throughout the entire process from initial action to recovery and restoration.

After the drill, evaluations were conducted on the response plans and shortcomings of the related organizations and each department.

Based on the evaluation results, the county plans to promptly prepare a more detailed and effective crisis response manual.

County Governor Gu Bok-gyu stated, "Initial actions are the most important in disaster situations," and added, "Through this drill, I hope related organizations and collaborative departments will strengthen mutual cooperation and response capabilities and work thoroughly for a safe and happy Hwasun."
