Sinan-gun Completes Construction of Fishermen's Rest Area in Heuksan Biri Village

[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] On the 17th, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do held a completion ceremony for the fishermen's convenience facility in Beori, Heuksan-myeon.

The initial project cost was 125 million KRW (80% provincial funds, 20% county funds), but to withstand the typhoons, strong winds, and rain frequently passing through Heuksan-do, Jeollanam-do added 95 million KRW of county funds to change the design from the standard steel structure model to a reinforced concrete structure, completing it sturdily and safely with a total of 220 million KRW.

The Beori village fishermen's rest area (convenience facility) has a building area of 56.16㎡ (17 pyeong), including a village communal workshop, a lounge, and one men's and women's restroom each. It features wide windows over 8 meters in width and white walls with a cobalt blue roof, giving the impression of resting at a Mediterranean resort, allowing residents to comfortably sit and rest after work.

Park Woo-ryang, the mayor of Sinan-gun, emphasized, "Although Beori village is small, building a rest area for fishermen in the communal workshop is making the village increasingly livable. Our goal is to create a Sinan where everyone is happy, equal, and prosperous by enjoying the natural scenic beauty and rest, even while living on the island."

Meanwhile, there are currently 27 fishermen's rest areas established in Sinan-gun, with 4 more under construction.
