Cancer camel 'Camilla' living in the UK predicts World Cup opening match result

British tabloid The Sun visited 'Camilla,' the fortune-telling camel, a day before England's match on the 20th (local time), to predict the winner of the Group B first match between England and Iran. Camilla's fortune-telling took place near Melton Mowbray, close to Leicester, England. Two flags of the countries were placed outdoors, and Camilla was asked to choose by walking toward one of the flags. Without any hesitation, Camilla walked toward the England flag, predicting England's victory. Previously, Camilla also accurately predicted the opening match result of the World Cup, where Ecuador defeated the host country Qatar.
Camilla's owners, Jenny Moore (52) and Vernon Moore (52), claim, "Camilla never gets it wrong." They also said, "Camilla has a very strong will and always seems to know mealtime, so we absolutely trust her ability to predict World Cup results."
During the 2018 Russia World Cup, a fortune-telling cat named 'Achilles' appeared. Achilles is a male cat living at the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Achilles correctly predicted the outcomes of four group stage matches, including Russia's two games, Morocco vs. Iran, and Brazil vs. Costa Rica, drawing attention. However, Achilles failed to show his predictive power in the Argentina vs. Nigeria match.
There was also a cat in China that predicted in the same way as Achilles. The Palace Museum in the Forbidden City placed two feeding bowls with the flags of Russia and Saudi Arabia, who played the opening match of the 2018 World Cup, for a stray cat wandering the Forbidden City to choose from for fun. The cat chose Russia, which won the opening match, and subsequently correctly predicted the results of six more matches, gaining fame. Football fans even named the cat 'Bai Dian,' meaning 'white spot.' Bai Dian died suddenly from thrombosis caused by heart disease after predicting the Argentina vs. Nigeria match result.
Another fortune-telling animal that died during the Russia World Cup was 'Rabio,' a fortune-telling octopus from Japan. Rabio correctly predicted all of Japan's group stage results and became a hot topic, but its owner sold it at a market, and it ended up as sashimi. The original and most famous fortune-telling octopus worldwide was Paul from Germany. Born in January 2008, Paul also predicted by choosing between two glass boxes containing mussels, indicating the match result based on which box he ate from. Paul predicted matches from the 2008 Euro Cup through the 2010 South Africa World Cup. In the 2008 Euro Cup, he correctly predicted all but two matches, achieving an overall accuracy rate of about 90%. Possibly due to the stress of fortune-telling, Paul did not live as long as the average octopus lifespan (3-4 years) and died of natural causes in October of the same year at the Oberhausen Sea Life Centre in Germany after the South Africa World Cup ended.
