Hyundai Home Shopping Supports Low-Income Female Adolescents... [Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Hyundai Home Shopping announced on the 22nd that it will provide approximately 200 million KRW worth of female hygiene products and strollers to low-income female adolescents and expectant mothers.


Hyundai Home Shopping delivered funds to the Korean Red Cross for the 'Hi Campaign' project. The Hi Campaign, launched in 2017 in partnership with the Korean Red Cross, supports female adolescents and expectant mothers facing economic difficulties by providing necessary items according to their life cycle. The funds delivered this time will be used to support female hygiene products and strollers.


Hygiene kits consisting of sanitary pads, underwear, and pouches that can be used for six months will be provided to 1,200 low-income female adolescents (from 3rd grade elementary to 3rd grade high school) from grandparent-headed or single-parent families. Additionally, Hyundai Home Shopping plans to expand the operation of free sanitary pad vending machines, currently installed in 21 middle and high schools nationwide, by adding 26 more locations this year, bringing the total to 47 schools nationwide. Strollers will also be provided to 265 low-income and vulnerable mothers (with a median income of 70% or less, single-parent households, etc.) who have given birth or are expecting this year.


Including this year's support amount, Hyundai Home Shopping has provided a total of 1 billion KRW over the past six years to 2,250 low-income mothers and 3,200 female adolescents. As a result, it has joined the RCSV (Red Cross Creating Shared Value) 1 Billion Club, a group of high-donation corporations and organizations affiliated with the Korean Red Cross.


Im Dae-gyu, President of Hyundai Home Shopping, said, "We are carrying out the Hi Campaign to help create a society where women and families are happy, even if just a little." He added, "We will continue to strengthen various customized support projects for marginalized groups to realize social value."
