The Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society Yeongyang County District Council held a Love Kimchi Sharing event.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, has been promoting the "Meal Delivery Project for Low-Income Homebound Elderly" since June, organized by the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society Yeongyang-gun District Council, and on the 21st, held the "Sharing Love Kimchi Making" event for a warm winter.
About 50 Red Cross members participated in the event, and in preparation for the kimchi-making season, they made kimchi to be delivered to 120 households including homebound elderly with mobility difficulties, low-income families, and North Korean defector households, while also fostering friendship and harmony among members.
Kim Daeyeon, Chairman of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society Yeongyang-gun District Council, said, "Despite the chilly weather, members carefully mixed and packed the kimchi with sincere hands to warm the hearts of neighbors in need. We hope our struggling neighbors have a warm winter."
Oh Dochang, the county governor, said, "I thank the Red Cross Volunteer Society members who consistently practice volunteer work, and we will continue to create a warm Yeongyang-gun that shares the pain of marginalized neighbors and overcomes difficulties together."
The Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society Yeongyang-gun District Council actively participates in community volunteer activities such as the meal delivery project for low-income homebound elderly, preparing birthday meals for elderly living alone, sharing love kimchi making, and sharing love samgyetang and rice cake soup.
