Myongji University (President Yoo Byung-jin) conducted a metaverse experience program for high school students with disabilities on the morning of the 18th at 10 a.m. in the International Hall of the Humanities Campus.
This program was organized as part of the "2022 University Life Experience Project for High School Students with Disabilities (Phase 2)" hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and supervised by Myongji University's Humanities Support Center for Students with Disabilities. Its purpose is to provide high school students with disabilities the opportunity to experience Myongji University's metaverse campus and immersive media content.
The 22 high school students with disabilities who participated in the program spent time engaging in activities such as ▲Minecraft metaverse campus tours ▲taking virtual reality selfies ▲virtual reality experiences using VR equipment ▲assembling and experiencing modular cardboard viewers, supported by students from the Myongji University Metaverse Designer School.
Kim Yong-tae, head of the External Cooperation and Public Relations Team, who supervised the program, stated, "We hope this metaverse experience event will help students in their university admission and career decisions," and added, "Myongji University is committed to developing educational content based on virtual reality to support the learning of students with disabilities."
Meanwhile, Myongji University is striving for educational innovation through the "Virtual Campus Construction Linked to Metaverse Talent Development" project, part of the recent University Innovation Support Project. The university is dedicated to nurturing future-oriented talents who can navigate both real and virtual spaces. In particular, by operating the Metaverse Designer School, a core task of the project, it provides education aimed at fostering convergent talents and securing promising technologies, while accelerating the construction of the metaverse campus together with its students.
