On the 21st, Buk-gu announced that on the 23rd, it will sign a business agreement with the four major religious orders?including the Buk-gu Christian Council (Chairman Shin Eunsoo), Catholic Gwangju Social Welfare Association (Chairman Lee Bongmun), Gwangju Buddhist Federation (Chairman Doseong), and Won Buddhism Gwangju Western District (District Head Jo Inseo)?at the Buk-gu Office 2nd floor situation room to discover and support welfare blind spots.
This agreement was prepared to establish a more thorough and robust community welfare safety net by cooperating with the four major religious orders based in the local community.
Accordingly, the four major religious orders will actively engage in identifying households in crisis and promoting welfare programs through religious facilities and believer networks such as churches, cathedrals, temples, and congregations.
Buk-gu will build a systematic crisis household discovery system including a reporting system and rewards for informants, and will support households in crisis reported by the four major religious orders with various customized supports such as emergency welfare and public and private services.
Commissioner Moon said, “We thank the representatives of the four major religious orders who have joined in the cooperation to discover neighbors in need,” and added, “We hope you will take great interest and join forces in discovering and supporting households in crisis within the region.”
Meanwhile, Buk-gu is actively striving to discover and support households in crisis within welfare blind spots by signing business agreements this year with lifestyle-oriented institutions such as the three major convenience store chains, the Northeast Waterworks Office, and the Jeonnam Regional Post Office?the first such effort in Gwangju.
