Andong-si Allocates 1.4 Trillion Won Budget for Next Year... 6.9% Increase from This Year Andong City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Andong City, Gyeongbuk Province, submitted the next year's budget plan of 1.4 trillion won to the city council on the 21st.


Andong City stated, "Next year's main budget plan increased by 69 billion won, or 6.9%, compared to this year's main budget. It consists of 1.2475 trillion won in the general account and 152.5 billion won in the special account."


The main uses of next year's budget include 1.5 billion won for introducing foreign seasonal workers and supporting rural workforce mediation to address rural aging and labor shortages, 2 billion won for agricultural machinery rental, 8.3 billion won from the local extinction response fund including construction costs for a knowledge industry center to overcome the population decline crisis, 4.1 billion won to encourage childbirth, and 2 billion won for expanding the children's water playground along the Nakdong River and creating the Geumso Ecological Park water playground.


Additionally, 4.1 billion won is allocated to support small business owners, 11.7 billion won for issuing and operating the Andong Love gift certificates, 7.2 billion won for supporting job creation tasks, and 5.5 billion won for Andong-type jobs. Notable allocations also include 10.1 billion won for industrial complex operation and maintenance such as installing infrastructure in the Bio 2nd General Industrial Complex, 5.8 billion won for establishing a vaccine specialist workforce training support center, 1.7 billion won for the industrial hemp regulatory free zone support project, and 1.6 billion won for building and demonstrating a textile material big data platform.


Mayor Kwon Ki-chang said, "We have repeatedly deliberated to create a new Andong full of vitality, culture, and hope while preparing next year's budget plan," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that the next year's budget plan, reflecting diverse demands, quickly integrates into the local economy after approval by the Andong City Council."
