Noh Seung-yeol Ties for 15th Place... Misses Top 10 by One Stroke
[Asia Economy Reporter Tae-won Choi] No Seung-yeol (31) finished tied for 15th in his final PGA Tour event of the year.
On the 20th (local time), No Seung-yeol recorded a 3-under-par 67 in the final round of the PGA Tour RSM Classic (total prize money $8.1 million) held at the Sea Island Resort Seaside Course (par 70) in St. Simons Island, Georgia, USA. He finished tied for 15th with a total score of 13-under-par 269.
Having lost his PGA Tour card due to a poor performance last season, No Seung-yeol needed to finish in the top 10 in this tournament to secure entry into the next event. However, finishing tied for 15th, one stroke behind the group tied for 10th, means he must go through alternate status or Monday qualifiers to participate in the next tournament.
Up to the 14th hole, No Seung-yeol had recorded four birdies and three bogeys. He raised hopes of entering the top 10 with consecutive birdies on the 15th (par 5) and 16th holes (par 4). However, his birdie putts on the 17th hole (par 3) and 18th hole (par 4) narrowly missed, resulting in a failure to break into the top 10 by a slim margin.
Adam Svensson (Canada) earned the honor of his first career victory.
Svensson shot a 6-under-par 64 on the day, edging out Callum Tarren (England), Sihas Sigala, and Brian Harman (both USA) by two strokes.
After returning to the Korn Ferry Tour last year, Svensson secured two wins last year to return to the PGA Tour and claimed his first career victory trophy.
Meanwhile, the 2022?2023 PGA Tour season will take a break after this event. The next tournament is the Sentry Champions Tournament in early January next year.
