The Seoul Metropolitan Government and EyeLine Studios, a global special effects video production company and a Netflix subsidiary, announced the establishment of a special effects video studio in Seoul and will sign a business agreement outlining a $100 million investment and plans to hire 200 employees over the next five years.
Co-hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Korea Investment & Securities and organized by the Seoul Investment Agency, this forum will be held for two days until the 22nd at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido. It was prepared to invite global investors to Seoul and support domestic companies in attracting investment and expanding overseas amid difficult business conditions due to the global economic downturn and interest rate hikes.
The forum will feature various events targeting domestic and international investors interested in Seoul companies and domestic companies seeking overseas expansion, including an investment attraction briefing session, signing of an investment attraction business agreement with a global special effects production company, a lecture on international mergers and acquisitions trends and status by Bloomberg Korea, and a practical lecture on Korean investment by the law firm Seum.
In his opening remarks, Mayor Oh plans to introduce efforts to enhance Seoul's global competitiveness, such as the establishment of the 'Seoul Vision 2030 Fund' and the Seoul Investment Agency, and request continuous interest and investment from global investors in Seoul, which is positioning itself as a 'Global Top 5 Financial City.'
