[Featured Stock] Senotec, Rising Expectations for Contract on Ultrafine Grinding Ceramic Beads for Secondary Battery Core Materials

Large-scale Ceramic Bead Supply Contract Worth 20 Billion KRW for Australian Major Mines
Improving Mining Grinding Efficiency... 2,000 Tons to Be Supplied Over 3 Years
Expecting Contracts with Secondary Battery Material Companies

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Senotec is showing strong performance. The news of signing a ceramic bead supply contract with a major Australian mining company seems to be influencing the stock price.

At 9:15 AM on the 18th, Senotec is trading at 2,200 KRW, up 20.82% from the previous day.

Ceramic material company Senotec announced the day before that it had signed a $15 million supply contract for ceramic beads (product name: CZA45) with a major Australian mining company. The contract period is from next month 1st to November 30, 2025. Senotec will supply 2,000 tons of ceramic beads to the client over the next three years. Depending on the client’s decision, there is potential for increased supply volume and additional contract extensions.

Ceramic beads refer to high-strength ceramic materials in the form of beads used for grinding minerals or pigments. They are used as a medium to obtain finely ground powder through friction caused by rotation in grinding machines. They are an important material required in various industries as they can improve material grinding efficiency and extraction rates.

The size of ceramic beads varies depending on the industry. In ultra-precision, high value-added industries such as secondary batteries, semiconductors, and multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC), ultra-small ceramic beads under 1mm are essential. Senotec is the only domestic company capable of developing and producing ceramic beads of various sizes, including ultra-small ceramic beads with a diameter of 0.1 mm, which is about the thickness of a human hair.

The contract client is a major Australian mining company developing the Ironbridge mine, which is expected to be capable of mining 22 million tons of high-quality magnetite annually.

Currently, due to the rapid global demand increase for secondary batteries, solutions to improve secondary battery capacity and performance are gaining attention. By making cathode, anode, and separator materials smaller and more uniform through the grinding process using ultra-small ceramic beads, secondary battery performance can be stabilized. Senotec also expects contracts with secondary battery raw material suppliers.

Senotec CEO Heo Myunggu said, "Senotec is an advanced materials company recognized in overseas markets for its excellent quality products based on proprietary core technology," and added, "We will continue to increase the global market share of our currently produced ceramic bead products."

He added, "We will also do our best in research and development and mass production of ceramic composite materials, which are in high demand in advanced industries."
