Sacheon City Council Visits Three Ecological Streams in Changwon City Members of the Construction and Aviation Committee of Sacheon City Council and responsible officials visiting the ecological stream site in Changwon City.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 17th, the Sacheon City Council in Gyeongnam visited three ecological streams in the Changwon area to observe similar construction method cases related to the Samcheonpo Stream ecological restoration project.

Chairman Yoon Hyung-geun, along with members of the Construction and Aviation Committee and responsible officials, conducted the site visit together, which holds special significance as the council and the executive agency collaborate to address local issues.

The Sacheon City Council Construction and Aviation Committee consists of Chairman Jeon Jae-seok, members Kim Gyu-heon, Park Byung-jun, Park Jeong-ung, and Choi Dong-hwan.

This site visit was arranged to transform the representative stream of the eastern area of Sacheon City into a nationally representative stream, creating a livable city that fits the slogan "A New Beginning, Happy City Sacheon."

The Samcheonpo Stream ecological restoration project involves a total budget of 16.746 billion KRW to renovate a 4.4 km stretch from the downstream of Waryong Reservoir to the Noksunggyo area in Dongseogeum-dong.

The council members are actively engaging in on-site governance by touring actual ecological stream cases and comparing differences such as channel construction methods to create an ecological stream that citizens desire.

Chairman Yoon Hyung-geun stated, “The Samcheonpo Stream ecological restoration project is a major campaign pledge of the mayor and a project of great interest to citizens. All members of the Sacheon City Council will collaborate with the city executive branch to meticulously oversee the project from start to finish, aiming to create not a second Cheonggyecheon but the number one nationally representative ecological stream.” He expressed his aspirations for the council’s active legislative activities.
