Yeonggwang-gun Accelerates Efforts to Host National Team's Second Athlete Village

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kang Jongman) announced on the 17th that on the 16th, a kickoff briefing session for the feasibility study on attracting the National Team's Second Training Center was held in the small conference room on the 2nd floor of the county office.

This research project was proposed as a task in the ongoing 10-year mid- to long-term sports development plan research project conducted by Yeonggwang-gun.

The project to attract the Second Training Center was also presented as one of the Jeollanam-do attraction projects in the 2022 Jeonnam Sports Mid- to Long-term Development Comprehensive Plan research project.

This project aims to establish a concrete attraction plan ahead of other cities and counties to promote the attraction and construction of the National Team's Second Training Center in Yeonggwang-gun.

At this kickoff briefing session, the strengths of attracting the National Team's Second Training Center to Yeonggwang-gun, the basic attraction plan, and expected effects were reported. The county plans to reflect the opinions and suggestions presented at the briefing session and strive to establish an attraction plan so that the National Team's Second Training Center can be attracted to the county.

Governor Kang Jongman said, "Through this research project, we hope to actively work on establishing a plan to attract the National Team's Second Training Center to Yeonggwang-gun, which will create jobs in the local community and revitalize the local commercial district by bringing in external population."

Meanwhile, the county plans to hold a mid-term briefing session at the end of next month and a final briefing session at the end of January next year, and in the first half of next year, cooperate with Jeollanam-do to visit central government departments and accelerate efforts to attract the National Team's Second Training Center.
