[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced on the 17th that it conducted a safety campaign to create safe commuting and promote safety culture both internally and externally.
TIPA launched a campaign to prohibit speeding and reckless driving and to promote defensive driving and walking to address employees' safety complacency caused by recent safety accidents and the increased traffic of construction vehicles due to the joint campus construction project around the Sejong office building, and to manage commuting safety.
At the entrance of the parking lot in front of the Sejong office building, safety messages regarding safe driving and walking were conveyed through placards and banners to vehicles and personnel commuting to work. Afterwards, on-site safety inspections around the office building were conducted to improve hazards related to pavement blocks and structures, carrying out activities to spread safety culture both internally and externally.
Additionally, safety supplies (turn signal gloves, rear lights) were distributed to bicycle commuters, and bicycle safety rules were handed out while urging safe riding.
Lee Jae-hong, Director of TIPA, said, "We will strive to make the safe commuting activities not temporary but continuous and regular," adding, "We will continue to seek various ways to effectively contribute to spreading safety culture both internally and externally."
