[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Com2verse, a metaverse-specialized company under Com2uS, announced on the 17th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Daewon Media, a domestic cultural content company, to collaborate on metaverse-based intellectual property (IP) and content business.
Through this MOU, Com2verse and Daewon Media plan to share each company's technology and business strategies and cooperate in developing and operating content utilizing popular IPs.
Daewon Media is a company that has led the development of the Korean animation industry by producing works such as "Tteodori Kkachi," "Dallyeora Hani," and "Yeongsimi." Currently, it not only produces its own animations but also imports and distributes renowned overseas animations like Crayon Shin-chan and Studio Ghibli works in Korea, expanding its business areas to character licensing using content IP and operating complex cultural spaces.
Com2verse will develop and apply various IPs owned by Daewon Media into new content suitable for the metaverse environment and discuss various collaborative projects such as performances, exhibitions, and commerce within the metaverse. Additionally, it expects to create new business opportunities by linking services and products held by various partners in the Com2verse ecosystem.
A Com2verse representative stated, "We plan to integrate Daewon Media's excellent IP and characters into the global metaverse Com2verse to showcase and create new K-content trends," adding, "In the future, we will continue to collaborate with leading companies in various industries to build Com2verse into an all-in-one metaverse that is more fun and convenient than reality."
