LG Uplus Unveils 'Aideulnara' Kids-Only OTT from Yugyojeonseo Exhibition Hall Bird's-eye View

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] LG Uplus will participate as an official sponsor in the largest domestic early childhood education exhibition, the "50th Seoul International Early Childhood Education Exhibition & Kids Fair" (hereinafter referred to as the Education Fair), held at COEX from the 17th to the 20th for four days, showcasing ‘Idleulnara,’ transformed into a kids-only online video service (OTT).

Returning after three years, LG Uplus set up the largest experiential booth among exhibitors, spanning 270㎡ (30 booths), and unveiled Idleulnara, completely revamped as a kids-only OTT. The experiential booth consists of an interactive technology-applied two-way content demonstration zone and a ‘Disney Learning+’ demonstration zone where children can learn English through Disney cartoons. Since the launch of Idleulnara, LG Uplus has participated in the Education Fair from 2017 to 2019, presenting improved new services and features. Notably, at the 2019 event, about 25,000 visitors, accounting for 30% of the Education Fair attendees, visited the Idleulnara experiential booth.

At the two-way content demonstration zone, visitors can experience about 10,000 interactive contents such as ‘Coding,’ which explains coding concepts easily through storybooks; ‘Quiz Encyclopedia,’ where children solve quizzes on topics of their interest; ‘3D Book,’ which vividly presents world-famous fairy tales and nature observation content in 360-degree 3D augmented reality (AR); and ‘Touch Book,’ where children directly touch the mobile device screen to develop stories.

At the Disney Learning+ demonstration zone, visitors can experience an English learning service that incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) voice recognition technology and a three-year professional curriculum into Disney cartoons. This service allows children to systematically learn English from alphabets and phonics to word and sentence comprehension and speaking by following Disney dialogues and songs and reviewing words through AI games.

LG Uplus will also hold an event inviting popular YouTube creator ‘Egg Doctor’ along with Noh Gyu-sik, director of the Noh Gyu-sik Study Brain Research Institute, who co-developed Idleulnara. Egg Doctor, popular as the ‘President of Nature Observation’ among young children, will hold a fan meeting at the Idleulnara experience zone.

Various benefits are also prepared. Customers who apply for a one-month free trial of the Idleulnara OTT will receive an accessory set of Idleulnara characters ‘Yuppi and Friends.’ Additionally, mobile customers of LG Uplus or members of the Idleulnara online community ‘Ajit’ will be given 500 copies of Cheongdam Learning and 3,000 copies of Egg School textbooks on a first-come, first-served basis. Furthermore, among customers who convert from the one-month free trial to a paid subscription, three will be selected to receive luxury shoulder bags worth approximately 3 million KRW as prizes.

Park Jong-wook, Executive Director of LG Uplus, said, "As we launch many new services and content by presenting Idleulnara as a kids-only OTT, we have prepared a large-scale experience center at the country’s largest early childhood education exhibition so that many customers can try it out directly."
