Number of Free Data Products Reaches 430... Ranked No.1 in Registered Products, Downloads, and Popularity

Shinhan Card, Largest with 430 Free Data Sets on Financial Data Exchange

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Shinhan Card announced on the 17th that it ranked first in all areas in the Financial Data Exchange for the number of free data products (430), registered products (540), downloads (2,936), views (143,031), likes (1,644), and popularity rankings.

Based on this, Shinhan Card plans to launch small-amount data products on the 1st of next month to expand the data base, and as part of building a data ecosystem and practicing inclusive data finance, it will allow the use of small-amount data products with only the cloud cost of the remote analysis environment provided by the Financial Security Institute until the first quarter of next year.

Small-amount data products can be purchased by submitting a certificate of small and medium-sized enterprises (small business owners) issued on the Small and Medium Venture 24 website or a certificate of enrollment from a university (graduate school). Compared to the existing high-priced products in units of 10 million KRW, these products are available at a minimum price in the 500,000 KRW range, allowing safe analysis of consumption data such as usage amount and number of users by region, industry, and period in the Financial Security Institute’s remote analysis environment (Safe Zone).

Small-amount data products will be provided in a customized and more affordable manner than existing B2B data products, along with quality exceeding that of free data, to small business owners, startups, and university (graduate) students who want to utilize high-quality data. Two types of products, commercial district data and MZ consumer data, will be launched first, with plans to add more products later.

Through these data products, prospective small business owners preparing for new startups can predict promising startup locations by desired commercial districts, startups can understand the characteristics of potential customers and use them for specific target group selection, and in terms of research data utilization, it is possible to use actual domestic card consumption data beyond the existing public datasets, enabling more comprehensive research.

A Shinhan Card official said, "In line with Shinhan Financial Group’s vision of ‘Easier, More Comfortable, and Newer Finance,’ we will expand data accessibility to support the creation of business ideas and research based on financial data, and actively support the revitalization of the Korean data ecosystem based on the social trust earned as a financial institution."
