[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Mart announced on the 17th that it will hold a discount event selling ingredients for kimchi-making at low prices at all stores until the 23rd.

In this event, major ingredients will be subject to the agricultural discount (up to 20,000 KRW discount per person during the period) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Essential ingredients such as napa cabbage and Haenam yellow soil salted napa cabbage will be sold at discounted prices. Side ingredients such as onions, peeled garlic, and peeled green onions are also available. Our shrimp salted with only domestic raw materials and bagged oysters for kimchi-making will be sold at discounted prices for L.POINT members.

Lotte Super will also hold a discount event applying agricultural discounts to various kimchi-making ingredients at all stores until the 22nd. Preparing for the increased demand as the kimchi-making season begins, Lotte Super has prepared 550 tons of napa cabbage and 320 tons of radish bundles. The napa cabbage is selected only if it weighs 8kg or more per net, and the radish bundles are selected with 5 to 6 pieces per bundle to enhance product quality, and side ingredients are also prepared based on excellent production areas. At all Lotte Super stores, salted napa cabbage produced in Haenam, Sunchang, and Pyeongchang, representative production areas of napa cabbage for the kimchi-making season, can be pre-ordered until the 13th of next month.

A Lotte Super official said, “We have worked hard to supply products that customers can trust and be satisfied with at affordable prices this kimchi-making season,” adding, “Since it has been a difficult year due to high prices, we hope customers share delicious kimchi and have a warm year-end.”
