Operating 200 Products from Over 10 Brands
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Emart announced on the 17th that it will hold an event offering up to 40% discounts on over 100 types of tumblers and water bottles until the 30th of this month.
Emart prepared this event to promote the use of reusable cups in connection with the law banning the use of paper cups inside restaurants, coffee shops, and collective cafeterias, following the expanded enforcement of the disposable product usage restriction system starting from the 24th.
Reflecting the increasing demand for tumblers, Emart has steadily expanded its product lineup and currently offers 200 items from about 10 brands including Zig, Lock&Lock, Stanley, Thermos, and Georgi Rush. Last year, sales of tumblers and water bottles increased by 21% compared to the previous year, and sales from January to October this year also rose by 13.8%.
The newly introduced Zig is a Swiss thermal container brand with a 100-year history. During the event period, customers who purchase one Sorious tumbler will receive an additional one for free, and tumblers released through a collaboration between Zig and SSG Landers, the professional baseball team of the Shinsegae Group, will be offered at a 40% discount when purchased with the event card.
An Emart official said, “Due to the trend of reducing disposable product use and eco-friendly value consumption, the demand for tumblers and water bottles is increasing,” adding, “We have expanded the product lineup to suit customers’ lifestyles and prepared a two-week discount event.”
