Mayor Hong stated, "Beyond false reporting and producing fake news, I will definitely hold the reporter who shamelessly and ruthlessly destroyed a person's character legally and criminally responsible," and added, "During my two terms as spokesperson for central government ministries, I have never seen such malicious and devilish editing in a report," expressing his fury.

He further said, "Even though it is obvious that I am going to the National Assembly to secure every possible budget necessary for Changwon's development, they are twisting it like that," and "This reporter seems to specialize in distortion (twisting the truth), which is truly pathetic. The reporter should not hide in the stench but come out boldly and reveal their true nature."
