[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The '2022 Developing Countries Climate Change Response Commercialization International Conference' will be held online via Zoom from the 15th to the 18th.
The event, co-hosted by Incheon City and Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP), was organized to discover green business models in the field of waste resource energy conversion to respond to climate change in developing countries.
Practical officials from the Ministries of Environment and related agencies of five developing countries?Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, and Vietnam?will participate.
Additionally, international organizations and domestic specialized institutions such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korea Development Bank (KDB), Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco), and Green Technology Center (GTC) will serve as advisory bodies for the event.
Held for the second time following last year, this event aims to discover green climate sector commercialization models that meet the climate change response demands of developing countries, and through expert advice from finance and commercialization specialists on the newly derived Project Concept Papers, to identify and promote feasible projects.
In particular, this event will focus on project development for strengthening climate capacity to reduce greenhouse gases, such as recycling and energy conversion of urban waste.
This is expected to serve as a foothold for strengthening the climate change response capabilities of developing countries and for domestic environmental companies to advance into overseas environmental projects.
An official from Incheon City stated, "Incheon will realize more effective and practical climate actions through solidarity with the international community," and added, "We will take the lead as a global climate-centered city responding to the climate change challenges faced worldwide."
