Korea Employers Federation Urges Cargo Solidarity to Withdraw Collective Transport Refusal Plan

"Time to Unite Efforts to Overcome the Economic Crisis"

Korea Employers Federation Urges Cargo Solidarity to Withdraw Collective Transport Refusal Plan

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Korea Employers Federation emphasized regarding the Cargo Solidarity's collective transportation refusal, "Now is the time for all economic actors to unite in overcoming the economic crisis, not to engage in collective actions asserting their demands."

On the 14th, the Federation stated in a press release, "With exports, which have served as the backbone of our economy, slowing down and the trade deficit continuing, concerns about the decline in economic vitality are significant."

The Cargo Solidarity, an association of transportation operators, has announced that it will once again begin an indefinite collective transportation refusal starting from the 24th of this month, following a similar action in June.

The Federation expressed concern over the Cargo Solidarity's announcement of collective transportation refusal, which causes damage to the national economy and inconvenience to citizens, and urged the withdrawal of the plan. It also emphasized, "The government should take active measures to prevent damage to the national economy caused by the Cargo Solidarity's collective transportation refusal, and in cases of illegal acts such as transportation obstruction and violence, respond according to law and principles to establish the rule of law in industrial sites."
