PowerCo, the new EV battery subsidiary of Germany's Volkswagen AG, will hold a metaverse recruitment briefing on December 12 and 13.

Organized by the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in cooperation with KOTRA Frankfurt Trade Center, this briefing is designed to provide Korean talent interested in overseas employment with a stepping stone to the global stage.

In particular, aiming to discover talent to join Volkswagen Group's mid- to long-term EV battery business, on the 12th, top executives including CTO Dr. An Sun-ho and COO Sebastian Wolf will introduce the new battery business and the company's founding aspirations in real time from the German headquarters.

Additionally, key department representatives will directly conduct sessions on next-generation battery development strategies, production process explanations, Q&A, and networking with participants. On the 13th, pre-registered applicants will also have the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with company practitioners. Information on the recruitment briefing and registration can be found on the event notice posted on the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry website.

PowerCo is a subsidiary established by Volkswagen, Europe's largest automotive group, aiming to stabilize supply, internalize technology, and advance production systems of EV batteries, which have emerged as the core of automotive industry innovation linked directly to electric vehicle performance.

Headquartered in Salzgitter, Germany, PowerCo is responsible for processing battery raw materials, developing standardized integrated battery cells for Volkswagen Group electric vehicle models, and managing all production facilities worldwide (gigafactories).

PowerCo plans to firmly establish vertical integration of the EV battery value chain and supply the machinery and equipment necessary for plant operation internally. Following the groundbreaking of the Salzgitter plant, the second battery production hub will be built in Valencia, Spain, with plans underway to add three more plants in Europe and establish gigafactories in the North American region.
