Muan-gun to Host Muan Mattang Festival on the 18th

Preparing a Rich Variety of Foods Using Rice and Goguma

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Jeonnam Muan-gun and the Rural New Vitality Plus Project Promotion Team will hold the Muan Mattang Festival for two days from the 18th to the 19th at Bulmu Park in Muan-eup.

This event is held as part of the Rural New Vitality Plus Project, aiming to revitalize farmers and local residents by providing various snacks and entertainment using rice and sweet potatoes produced in the vast lands of the Muan area.

The event consists of four "Mattang" categories: Mattang to eat, Mattang to see, Mattang to play, and Mattang to buy.

First, for Mattang to eat, there will be ▲food trucks using Muan's garaetteok (rice cake) and sweet potatoes as main ingredients (sweet potato mattang, sweet potato ice cream, sweet potato churros, etc.) ▲a cooking booth by the Hotel Culinary Department of Chodang University (garaetteok pizza, mattang hotteok, sweet potato so-tteok so-tteok, etc.) ▲Muan-gun Life Improvement Association booth (sweet potato ppaettegi porridge, yellow soil bread) ▲Muan Sikhye and Dansul artisan booth ▲sweet potato pizza making booth ▲Philippine sweet potato mattang booth ▲local sweet potato processed product sales booths (sweet potato latte, bakery, scorched rice, meal kits, etc.) ▲and a puffed rice snack booth made from Muan rice.

Next, for Mattang to see, there will be an exhibition and distribution of poetry postcards submitted by the Muan Writers' Association, idol and b-boy invited performances, string quartet and popera performances, and a fusion Korean traditional music performance by Eoulim.

Additionally, for Mattang to play, there will be a sweet potato game parodying the Squid Game (Muan Sweet Potato Flower Has Bloomed), nostalgic dalgona candy experience, and stress relief games.

Furthermore, for Mattang to buy, a direct agricultural product market will promote and sell Muan rice and sweet potatoes in connection with the experience programs.

Meanwhile, the official schedule of this Muan Mattang Festival is from 14:00 to 18:00 on the 18th and from 12:00 to 17:00 on the 19th, held at Bulmu Park opposite the Muan Seungdal Culture and Arts Center.
