Kim Jin-bu, Chairman of Gyeongnam Provincial Council ... Giving up Privilege Mindset Including Returning Budget for Official Residence Use Kim Jin-bu, Chairman of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Kim Jin-bu, chairman of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council, has relinquished the official residence provided by default and commutes from Jinju to Changwon, thereby giving up special privileges.

According to the Provincial Council, the budget of 425 million KRW, including 400 million KRW for the chairman's official residence rent and 25 million KRW for equipment purchases, was cut in the 3rd supplementary budget and will be used for the residents in the future.

Chairman Kim is a representative local politician who has been chosen by local residents for a remarkable 28 years as a seven-term local council member, including three terms as a basic council member (former vice chairman and chairman of Jinju City Council), vice chairman of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council, and four terms as a provincial council member. His modest and honest demeanor has been the driving force behind his long political career.

Chairman Kim said, “Aiming for a council that truly serves the residents, I will align with the residents' perspective and represent their interests by giving up the benefits enjoyed by the chairman and doing my best solely for the residents.”
