Seeking AI Companies with Positive Influence... The AI Hosts 'Good AI Awards 2022'

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] The AI-specialized media outlet 'THE AI' announced that, in collaboration with the International Association for Artificial Intelligence Ethics (IAAE), it will hold the '1st Good AI Awards 2022' ceremony on the 14th of next month at the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies building.


This inaugural awards ceremony is hosted by THE AI and the International Association for Artificial Intelligence Ethics (IAAE), with sponsorship from the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Communications Commission, the National Information Society Agency (NIA), and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).


The awards cover three categories: 'Corporations,' 'Research Institutions & Academia,' and 'Individuals.' In the corporate category, a total of 18 companies (3 companies per field) will be selected across six fields: △Mobility & Robotics △Digital Health & Bio △Smart Agriculture & Green Tech △Mobile & Communication △Media, Metaverse & VR △Finance, Data & ICT. Two institutions will be selected in the research institutions/academia category, and two recipients will be chosen in the individual category.


Eleven experts, including Jin-Hyung Kim, President of Incheon Jaeneung University (Emeritus Professor at KAIST), Young-Joo Seo, Dean of the AI Graduate School at POSTECH, Ki-Yeon Hwang, Vice President of Hongik University, Woo-Chang Kim, Dean of the Data Science Graduate School at KAIST, Gil-Tae Song, Director of the AI Convergence Research Center at Pusan National University, Yoon Kyung Joo, Team Leader of Promotion Information Ethics at NIA, and Myung-Sook Yoon, Team Leader of the Digital Health Industry at NIPA, will evaluate the diverse AI capabilities of participating organizations based on the judging philosophy of △AI that understands humans △Ethical AI △Capable AI.
